Job Description

Full-stack Drupal engineer building and maintaining Acquia-hosted applications for federal agencies. Delivering scalable digital services with modern engineering practices and mentoring junior developers.

Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and complete development tasks, including coding, requirements gathering, and analysis
  • Improve technical and communication skills while mentoring junior developers
  • Assess and diagnose issues with owned systems and prioritize problem areas
  • Participate in on-call rotations as necessary
  • Present and write about work for internal and external audiences
  • Participate in planning sessions and develop understanding of major architectures and design patterns
  • Support recruiting by evaluating homework assignments and potentially assisting with interviews
  • Drive improvements in team engineering processes and practices
  • Develop and maintain Drupal websites and applications hosted on Acquia
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship features
  • Write readable, efficient, and testable code
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues
  • Keep current with industry trends and technologies
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Document successful solutions and usage instructions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of engineering experience (Computer Science or related field)
  • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education
  • Proven experience with Drupal development
  • Strong proficiency in front-end and back-end technologies
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL
  • Familiarity with Apache configurations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Progressive experience with relevant technologies
  • Understanding of interacting roles and how work impacts business goals
