Job Description

Solution Architect designing data-center and Microsoft infrastructures for DIGIT4U Business Solutions’ public-sector and enterprise clients. Developing migration strategies and governing complex transformation projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, architecture and continuous development of complex data center and infrastructure architectures with focus on availability, security, scalability and cost-effectiveness
  • Creation of target architectures and development of technical solution and migration concepts for data center modernizations, consolidations and transformation projects
  • Analysis of existing IT infrastructures and derivation of architecture and optimization recommendations
  • Preparation and maintenance of architecture concepts, technical designs and infrastructure and operational documentation
  • Modeling and documentation of solution architectures using ARIS and Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA)
  • Consulting clients, business units and project teams on complex data center and infrastructure projects
  • Design and integration of Microsoft infrastructures, in particular Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization and hybrid cloud
  • Development of migration and transformation strategies taking business continuity and disaster recovery requirements into account
  • Conducting architecture reviews and ensuring technical standards, governance requirements and best practices
  • Collaboration with infrastructure, network, cloud and security architects
  • Support in selection and evaluation of new technologies and derivation of recommendations for action
  • Technical support during implementation as well as assistance in test, acceptance and commissioning phases
  • Presentation and alignment of architecture concepts to clients, project teams and management
  • Support in technical decision-making processes

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the architecture and design of complex data center and IT infrastructures
  • Extensive experience in creating, evaluating and evolving architecture concepts for data center, infrastructure and platform solutions
  • Experience with technical architecture, design and operational documentation according to established architecture and governance standards
  • Strong skills in architecture modeling and documentation with ARIS and Sparx Enterprise Architect (EA)
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft infrastructures, in particular Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization and Microsoft-based data center and hybrid cloud environments
  • Experience in developing target architectures as well as assessing and optimizing existing IT and data center landscapes
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and infrastructure governance
  • Familiarity with integration of modern data center and cloud technologies
  • Cloud experience: VCF, GDC, OpenStack
  • Experience with containerization
  • Experience in the public sector and/or with the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr)
  • Desirable: TOGAF, Microsoft and other relevant professional certifications
