Job Description
Speech Language Pathologist providing virtual therapy and IEP support to Colorado K-12 students. Managing evaluations, documentation, case coordination, and compliance for Pearson’s online public schools.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality speech language services to assigned K-12 students enrolled in Connections Academy virtual public schools
- Plan and implement individual and group therapy in a virtual environment
- Use webcams, web conferencing software, the company's online Education Management System, and special education software to manage caseload and records
- Follow assigned school and state-specific policies and procedures for implementing LiveSpeech services
- Maintain positive working relationships with the LiveSpeech team, schools, and programs served
- Review and analyze reports to maintain compliance
- Communicate with leadership, school staff, parents, and learning coaches
- Document therapeutic interventions and progress reports thoroughly and on time
- Meet biweekly with the supervisor
- Conduct screenings and formal and informal evaluations of students' communication needs
- Ensure students' IEP goals and needs are addressed appropriately and promptly
- Consult with teachers and coordinate specially designed instruction under students' IEPs
- Provide special education case management for select students whose only special education need is speech therapy
- Schedule, organize, and conduct virtual IEP-related meetings as needed
- Assist with paperwork, documentation, and procedures for the IEP process
- Maintain accurate and current data in the Education Management System and secondary IEP systems
- Adhere to data protection and security laws and company policies
- Obtain and maintain required licenses and clearances
- Complete assigned professional development, training, and CEU courses
- Complete additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- MA or MS in Speech Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence
- Active/valid state and/or Department of Education licensure in Speech Pathology in the state of residence
- Ability to obtain and maintain multiple required state certifications and clearances
- 2+ years of experience in a K-12 school setting
- Strong technology skills
- High degree of flexibility and ability to work independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication
- Appropriate means to work remotely, including compliance with home-office privacy, technology, and equipment standards
- Mouse and keyboard provided by the employee when working from home
