Job Description
Systems Analyst at SEIU Local 521 ensuring systemic functioning of database applications and coordinating work. Supporting user adoption and database maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- System Administration: Configure and maintain various fields and reports using the systems’ user interfaces
- Systems and Vendor Coordination: Work with application vendors and internal departments to support system changes, integrations and enhancements
- Process Analysis: Gather, document and clarify requirements from departments and teams
- Map workflows and identify gaps or inefficiencies in current processes
- Translate operational needs into clear functional requirements
- User Support and Training: Support adoption of systems through creating documentation and conducting training
- Troubleshoot user issues with an understanding of workflows and system behavior
- Database Support: Support the compilation, processing, maintenance, and updating of membership records related to the membership database
- Performs related work as required: Support additional operational needs as required by the Finance Director or their designee, including special projects and other duties as necessary to ensure efficiency of the Local.
Requirements:
- Perform effectively under pressure and with interruptions
- Must be detail oriented and accurate
- Strong technical and data literacy with an understanding of how applications integrate and exchange data
- Recognizing when issues are process vs system related
- Ability to define and deploy API strategies and translate requirements into technical API specification
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges
- Ability to build strong cross-departmental relationships and facilitate collaborations across teams
- Work effectively under pressure of deadlines
- Meet and deal tactfully and courteously with members, vendors or other to receive and impart information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability to changing priorities and ability to implement process improvements as needed
- Understanding of union operations and policies, or a willingness to learn and apply them effectively
- Basic knowledge of Python scripting for task automation and enhancing workflow efficiency
