Job Description
Team Lead overseeing KYC, verification, and screening for eCarsTrade, a European B2B used-car auction platform. Improving compliance processes, coaching the team, and advancing automation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform KYC, document verification, and screening checks.
- Set standards for accuracy, attention to detail, speed, and consistency.
- Handle complex or sensitive compliance cases and support difficult decisions.
- Serve as the team's compliance role model.
- Manage and coach Customer Compliance team members.
- Monitor individual and team performance quality and speed.
- Provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Help prioritize workloads and handle complex customer cases.
- Ensure customer documentation meets KYC and business requirements.
- Maintain verification and screening processes throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Manage compliance at post-registration, pre-invoice, and pre-pickup stages.
- Identify gaps, risks, bottlenecks, and recurring process issues.
- Improve workflows, increase automation, and reduce manual work.
- Monitor European automotive-business KYC regulations and best practices.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks.
- Contact customers for additional information, clarification, or documentation.
- Explain compliance requirements and guide customers through verification.
- Handle sensitive customer conversations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Support, Finance, Back Office, and other teams.
- Communicate account approval or outstanding requirements.
- Ensure compliant accounts transfer smoothly to relevant teams.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in Compliance, KYC, AML, Customer Verification, Back Office, Operations, or Administration.
- Previous experience in a team lead, senior, supervisory, or coaching role is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of KYC principles and customer verification processes.
- Genuine interest in compliance and keeping up to date with changing regulatory requirements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- A structured and analytical approach to solving problems.
- A continuous-improvement mindset.
- Interest in automation, process optimisation, and building scalable operational workflows.
- Ability to make sound decisions when dealing with incomplete or complex information.
- Strong communication skills and confidence communicating directly with customers.
- High sense of responsibility, reliability, and ownership.
- Ability to work independently while also coaching and supporting a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving international environment.
- Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
- Experience in the automotive industry or understanding of the European automotive market is a plus.
