Job Description
Airbnb NextStay Fellow managing technical programs across engineering, product, and operations teams. Building delivery plans, managing risks, and aligning stakeholders under senior TPM guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of defined-scope technical programs
- Create realistic project plans based on direction, constraints, milestones, and deliverables
- Break work into trackable pieces and monitor progress using input and output metrics
- Align project teams and hold contributors accountable for deliverables and milestones
- Identify, track, manage, and mitigate project risks through resolution
- Communicate project vision and success criteria to teams and stakeholders
- Re-evaluate strategy and escalate decisions carrying significant business risk
- Surface technical gaps and collaborate with engineers using sound technical principles
- Own technical programs spanning multiple engineering, product, and operations teams over several quarters
- Participate in cultural and functional excellence activities, mentorship, diversity and inclusion programming, and hackathons
Requirements:
- Active-duty service member currently enrolled in the USSOCOM Warrior Care Program, Career Transition Internship, or a similar program
- DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible
- Able to begin the Career Transition Fellowship by November 2026
- Able to complete at least 120 days of the program before military transition
- Within 180 days of military transition at fellowship start
- Written approval from chain of command before final selection
- Typically 2 years of relevant experience
- BS or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
- Able to build realistic plans based on constraints and track progress using input and output metrics
- Comfortable managing scope, schedule, and quality trade-offs
- Risk management experience
- Comfortable collaborating with engineers and applying sound technical judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage project deliverables and milestones
- Willingness to accept on-the-job training and guidance on prioritization
