Job Description

Lending operations specialist managing loan servicing, transactions, reconciliations, and stakeholder requests for BMO Financial Group. Supporting process improvements, change initiatives, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver critical lending operations processes, including loan administration and servicing activities
  • Execute payments, transactions, service requests, administrative activities, and stakeholder inquiries within service level agreements
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the assigned business/group
  • Analyze issues and recommend and implement business solutions
  • Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making
  • Support strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate with internal business partners and external customers regarding standard and non-standard inquiries
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to improve processes, analysis, and reporting
  • Monitor and track performance and address issues
  • Build change management plans and lead or participate in change activities
  • Develop communication plans, tailored messaging, and distribution channels
  • Develop, manage, review, and enhance business/group programs
  • Fulfill routine and non-routine transactions, inquiries, requests, audits, and reconciliations
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues; act as backup to team members and the manager
  • Evaluate exceptions and engage senior management when required
  • Execute timely, accurate, and efficient service
  • Lead or participate in process and system continuous improvement initiatives
  • Identify business needs and develop tools and training programs
  • Support vendor solution implementation, maintenance, and sustainment
  • Check and reconcile information and documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary
  • Enter, review, and verify loan information and documentation
  • Manage records and documentation
  • Collaborate on new processes/systems and improvements to existing processes
  • Maintain understanding of regulatory requirements and operational risks
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support
  • Exercise judgment to diagnose and solve problems within established rules
  • Work independently and handle non-routine situations
  • Apply the Risk Management Framework while protecting bank assets and adhering to policies, laws, and regulations

Requirements:

  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience
  • Post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business unit’s key products and services, processes and controls
  • In-depth knowledge of the risk and regulatory requirements of the business
  • In-depth prioritization skills
  • In-depth PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience
  • In-depth verbal and written communication skills
