Job Description

Yelp data quality associate assessing business listing sources and improving operational accuracy. Analyzing trends, reporting issues, and coordinating cross-functional solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the data quality of incoming data sources to determine viability and reliability
  • Onboard new data sources by running reports to ensure a data match
  • Train internal stakeholders on business listing standards and best practices
  • Develop data quality reporting standards
  • Report quantitative and qualitative results concisely and informatively
  • Drive cross-functional projects and initiatives across engineering, product management, and business development
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and participate in regular data quality discussions
  • Surface data quality issues and drive solutions with technical stakeholders
  • Execute internal quality assessment exercises to identify poor-quality data and calibration needs
  • Identify and drive data improvement projects from start to finish
  • Maintain deadlines across workstreams
  • Maintain and update process documentation, policy references, and training materials
  • Handle urgent escalations and lead decision-making to resolve issues
  • Coordinate with an overseas team to manage day-to-day quality operations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in quality assurance, operations, moderation, or a similar detail-driven role
  • Ability to build trackers, pivot tables, and basic formulas in Google Sheets and/or Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information, identify patterns, and derive solutions to complex problems
  • Ideally, experience with complex databases such as SQL, Splunk Reports, and Tableau
  • Ability to learn internal tools and Content Management System (CMS) platforms quickly
  • Comfort working across time zones and coordinating with a distributed team
  • Willingness to use AI tools such as Claude
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Exceptional cross-functional skills and ability to translate between technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to grasp complex engineering issues and communicate them concisely
