Job Description

Technical leader managing LV commissioning engineers for GE offshore wind projects. Driving technical excellence, troubleshooting, safety, and project readiness across low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of 5–10 Technical Support Engineers specialized in LV systems
  • Set team priorities, balance workload, plan resources, and develop technical development plans
  • Align team resources with project deadlines and KPI targets
  • Define and align internal processes across the Technical Support team
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring
  • Act as the highest commissioning technical authority and primary escalation point for LV-related issues and complex failures
  • Lead technical investigations and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Suppliers, and Field Operations teams
  • Support project preparation, including procedures, commissioning plans, tools, spares, readiness reviews, and test plan validation
  • Oversee non-conformity, defect, and reliability investigations; manage defects and PACs
  • Capture and deploy lessons learned across the fleet
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, reliability, productivity, digitalization, and data analytics
  • Standardize commissioning methodologies, troubleshooting processes, and LV technical documentation
  • Support engineering during NPI commissioning processes and prepare onshore and offshore commissioning protocols
  • Represent Commissioning in technical reviews with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Promote EHS culture and ensure compliance with electrical safety, LOTO, switching protocols, and Electrical Safety Management Plans

Requirements:

  • Degree or Technical Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Fluent English required
  • Additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese are a plus
  • Extensive years of experience in wind turbine commissioning, technical support, or operations in the wind energy industry
  • Strong expertise in LV electrical systems: Auxiliary Systems, Converters, Inverters, PLC Panels, Sensors and Instrumentation, Control Systems, Low Voltage Power Distribution, and Electrical Drive Trains
  • Previous experience leading technical investigations, complex troubleshooting activities, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams of 5+ engineers or technical workstreams
  • Proven experience supporting commissioning or operation of offshore wind farms
  • Experience with design or commissioning of power converters, PM generators, and associated LV systems
  • Experience with commissioning procedures, electrical testing and diagnostics, and quality tools (8D, SIPOC, FMEA)
  • Demonstrated systems thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management skills, and ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
