Job Description
Technology Lead owning SitecoreAI and headless Next.js delivery for Horizontal Digital’s Fortune 500 digital consultancy. Leading architecture, teams, QA, releases and client engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Own technical delivery and accountability for quality, timeline and budget across client engagements
- Lead technical discovery, assessments and audits; translate business goals and UX/creative artifacts into specifications
- Define SitecoreAI headless architecture, content modeling, components, rendering strategy, integrations, search, personalization, hosting, CI/CD and environments
- Lead sprint breakdown and estimation; identify dependencies and risks; define technology approach and toolset
- Perform solution and code reviews; enforce Helix-aligned and front-end best practices
- Ensure performance, accessibility, SEO and security standards
- Drive QA and release activities, including test plans, UAT, defect triage, deployment runbooks, rollback plans and production releases
- Serve as technical client contact for decisions, escalations, status, risks and opportunities
- Assign and oversee daily team work, clear blockers and act as technical escalation point
- Coach and mentor developers through feedback, performance reviews and training; support interviewing and hiring
- Champion responsible use of AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Claude Code
- Support proposals, estimates and client presentations
- Identify ongoing client needs and engage internal resources for new opportunities
- Contribute to internal standards, accelerators, reusable components and thought leadership
- Stay current on Sitecore, headless and AI trends
Requirements:
- 7+ years of hands-on web development experience, including 5+ years delivering enterprise Sitecore solutions
- Recent, hands-on SitecoreAI / XM Cloud experience, including headless architecture, Content SDK (or JSS), Experience Edge and GraphQL, Pages/component builder, SXA headless, and serialization-based DevOps
- Strong Next.js, React and TypeScript skills, including App Router, SSG/ISR/SSR, middleware, and performance optimization
- Experience deploying and operating headless front ends on Vercel and/or Netlify, including environments, preview deployments, edge/serverless functions, caching and CI/CD with Git
- Working knowledge of .NET / C# for Sitecore back-end customization and integrations
- REST/GraphQL API integration experience
- 3+ years leading development teams using Agile/Scrum, including estimation, sprint planning and code review
- Solid grounding in accessibility, SEO, web performance and security best practices
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and present solutions to clients
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
