Job Description

Tower Technician Top Hand supporting Pearce Services’ telecom infrastructure projects. Leading tower crews, installing wireless equipment, and performing high-altitude maintenance, testing, and repairs.

Responsibilities:

  • Support AT&T Technology and structural projects, including new builds, site modifications, and rooftop installations
  • Work at heights of 90’ to 500+’ using efficient weatherproofing, grounding, and rigging techniques
  • Install, repair, modify, optimize, and perform acceptance test procedures for wireless infrastructure and electrical equipment
  • Install all types of connectors
  • Train other Tower Technicians
  • Occasionally serve as Interim Foreman
  • Perform maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment
  • Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance
  • Work with a crew and respond to service calls in a timely manner
  • Serve as Team Lead by maintaining punctuality and setting the pace
  • Adapt duties as business and client needs evolve

Requirements:

  • Proven construction (civil and RF) skills
  • Understanding of scope, schedule, cost, quality, resource, and deliverable management
  • Experience with AT&T Network projects, T-Mobile CX, Verizon CX, Dish Network CX, troubleshooting, maintenance, and new site builds
  • Climbing Safety & Rescue Certification; assistance may be provided for renewals
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings (CD’s) and Plumbing diagrams (RFDS)
  • Knowledge of basic hardware, software, and air interface malfunctions using various test equipment
  • Ability to run all aspects of the top of the tower with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of cell site service monitors, RF test equipment, Fiber, and PIM equipment
  • Ability to comply with OSHA Standards
  • Compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA Regulations
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record if driving a company vehicle
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Ability to travel for multiple days with per diem depending on the project
  • Ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, visually and audibly
  • Ability to climb structures or operate lifts for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stretch above your head
