Job Description
Transition Bookkeeper coordinating bookkeeping file handoff and implementation at ConnectCPA, a remote accounting firm. Serving diverse clients with an emphasis on tech-savviness and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the handoff of the bookkeeping files from the previous bookkeeper to the future bookkeeper
- Perform a clean-up of the bookkeeping files
- Ensure the bookkeeping process and cadence for the client are reviewed
- Implement or adjust the new bookkeeping process
- Create and maintain a thorough process of documentation
- Correspond with clients to ensure bookkeeping is maintained, and build processes and procedures
- Monitor the incoming bookkeeper's progress in the transition upon the file hand-off
- Communicate with the senior bookkeeper about the progress of the transition and transfer of the bookkeeping process and procedural knowledge, and documentation
- Responsible for performing ad-hoc catch-up bookkeeping for non-bookkeeping clients
- Provide absence and vacation coverage for existing bookkeepers if necessary
- Assist with administering demo files for the incoming new bookkeepers if needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with multiple clients simultaneously
- Excellent understanding of accrual bookkeeping, payroll, debits and credits, clearing accounts, bank reconciliations, and more
- Excellent understanding of the ins and outs of how an accounting system works: Invoicing, payables, bookkeeping, tax rates, etc.
- Prior bookkeeping experience in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced experience with various bookkeeping software (Xero, QBO, Dext, A2X, Shopify)
