Job Description
Translation Coordinator planning and delivering patent translation projects for Questel’s legal-services operations. Coordinating vendors, linguists, project managers, resources, schedules, and final files.
Responsibilities:
- Accept projects from project managers
- Assign projects to vendors or internal resources via SAVANTA
- Track project status
- Deliver projects to the File Formatting Team
- Send linguistic questions to project managers or linguistic teams
- Process purchase orders in SAVANTA
- Consult with other Translation Coordinators on project questions and send them to project managers
- Coordinate with other Questel teams
- Ensure project profitability and meet monthly revenue goals
- Process feedback to in-house linguists, vendors, and/or filing agents
- Coordinate with Vendor Services on vendor-related issues
- Communicate with project managers about contingency plans for changes in scope, schedule, or resources
- Process final project deliveries to agents, project managers, and others
- Address purchase order concerns with accounting
- Ensure adequate translation resources are available for current and future projects
- Process test evaluations in SAVANTA
- Work collaboratively across multiple teams to communicate and manage expectations during all project phases
- Communicate issues that might impact Questel’s relationship with clients to project managers
- Provide detailed information to cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy in the final file
- Compile legal documents to attach to applications as needed
- Manage updates to glossaries and term bases
- Escalate feedback needs through proper channels
- Complete or compile monthly reports and alert management to error trends
- Help guide Associate Translation Coordinators as needed
- Collaborate with the development team in reporting bugs
- Work on special projects and other duties assigned by management
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of SAVANTA, Trados, and MS applications
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to occasionally manage and deliver projects during non-standard hours
- Outstanding planning, scheduling, and coordination skills
- Highly motivated with a willingness to take initiative and complete assignments
- Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision and regularly report on progress
- Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in occasionally stressful situations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, regression analysis, etc.) a plus
- Good time management skills and ability to complete a heavy workload within an established time frame
- Fluent in English
- Ability to consistently stand and/or sit and meet with other team members
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Ability to remember names and details
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information that is or will be confidential and proprietary to Questel or Questel’s clients
