Job Description
Remote triage nurse coordinating calls, medication orders, and oncology patient care. Supporting Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Alexandria and Leesville clinics.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care requests by phone for all physicians
- Serve as a resource to staff
- Review all incoming faxes to the office
- Answer pharmacy calls and medication refill requests
- Coordinate physician orders, including home health, hospice, and hospital orders
- Handle emergency calls on the designated emergency line
- Serve as liaison between physicians and other facilities and between physicians and patients
- Triage patient calls
- Manage oral chemotherapy and medication orders
- Coordinate patient care and documentation
- Perform nursing duties
Requirements:
- Associates degree in Nursing required
- RN or LPN license (State of LA or Compact) required
- BLS CPR required
- Prior phone triage experience required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- OCN Certification preferred
- Oncology experience preferred
