Job Description
NMDP registry recruitment coordinator engaging Minneapolis communities through outreach and events. Building diverse donor relationships, educating prospective donors, and leading volunteer recruitment to grow the life-saving registry.
Responsibilities:
- Establish, build, and maintain relationships with ethnically diverse communities, community leaders, organizations, media, businesses, and local contacts.
- Serve as liaison between NMDP and the community and respond to leads and referrals.
- Communicate through public speaking and written communication to expand the NMDP mission and increase diverse registry membership, volunteerism, and philanthropic giving.
- Identify and recommend innovative community engagement and registry recruitment practices.
- Create annual engagement and recruitment strategy plans with account managers and marketing.
- Plan, organize, and deliver live and digital mission-focused events.
- Activate volunteers and sponsors to achieve event targets and communicate results and impact.
- Educate prospective volunteer donors about NMDP’s mission, donation process, and registry member expectations.
- Create annual activity plans for target college campuses and track progress toward goals.
- Collaborate with account managers, network partners, transplant centers, marketing, and other internal functions.
- Support patient families by evaluating needs and referring them to NMDP support services.
- Identify patient and donor stories, support media pitches, participate in media events, and represent NMDP in interviews.
- Recruit, retain, interview, screen, train, place, and supervise volunteers.
- Track volunteer data and hours and support volunteer recognition activities.
- Work collaboratively with a regional team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual registry enrollment goals.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of sales and marketing
- Knowledge of volunteer management
- Knowledge of developing in-market strategies and generating leads
- Knowledge of planning and executing events
- Ability to navigate college and university systems, including athletics, affinity groups, student government, and Greek organizations
- Ability to network and develop community partnerships among ethnically diverse communities
- Ability to use social media effectively
- Ability to leverage digital marketing to drive recruitment
- Ability to interact with and influence others
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Public speaking and presentation skills
- Effective organizational and time management skills for handling multiple projects
- Self-motivated and goal-driven
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Salesforce, and the Internet
- Desire to learn and willingness to travel within the region as needed (25%-50%), work evenings and weekends, and take occasional national travel (3-4 trips per year)
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of formal education and experience
- Two years of experience in sales, business or community development, client account management, event planning, and implementation involving defined goals or targets
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation capable of holding event materials
- Experience as a marrow or PBSC donor or a direct connection to the mission is a plus
- Bilingual language skills may be necessary depending on location
