Job Description
UK English voice actor recording expressive speech samples for Mercor’s AI research partners. Producing voice data for a client’s internally used, cloned CX AI Agent.
Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripts
- Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
- Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
- Follow detailed recording guidelines for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
- Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style when required
- Contribute recordings for training and evaluating next-generation text-to-speech systems
- Provide voice recordings exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent
Requirements:
- Native English speaker with a neutral, standard UK English accent
- Currently based in the United Kingdom
- Clear, natural, and expressive voice
- Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup, including quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
- Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
- Availability for a single approximately 4-hour recording session, with a possible further session of similar length
- Must be comfortable with voice cloning for the client's CX AI Agent
- Experience recording for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets preferred
- Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper preferred
- Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles preferred
- Independent contractor engagement
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
