Job Description
USA-based voice actor recording expressive samples for Mercor’s client AI research lab. Producing voice data for an internal CX AI Agent with possible voice cloning.
Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripts
- Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
- Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
- Follow detailed recording guidelines for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
- Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style when required
- Contribute recordings to training and evaluation of next-generation text-to-speech systems
- Voice recordings used exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent and not sold, licensed, or reused for other products, datasets, or purposes
Requirements:
- Native American English speaker currently based in the United States
- Clear, natural, and expressive voice
- Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup, including quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
- Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
- Availability for a single approximately 4-hour recording session, with possibility of a further session of similar length
- Must be comfortable with voice cloning for the client's CX AI Agent
- Independent contractor engagement
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates
- Experience recording for TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets is preferred
- Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or similar audio editing tools is preferred
- Ability to deliver multiple vocal styles is preferred
