Job Description
British voice actor recording scripted audio for Mercor’s AI-lab projects. Improving frontier models’ ability to process and produce audio data through expert human speech.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with a leading AI lab to improve its AI model’s ability to handle and produce audio data
- Record submitted audio based on provided transcripts
- Record transcripts exactly as written or edit them to reflect natural pacing
- Commit 2–10 hours per week for approximately 1–2 weeks
- Attend a kickoff call
- Collaborate with leading researchers on AI training and enhancement projects
- Complete the work independently on a flexible schedule
Requirements:
- Must be born and raised in Great Britain
- Native English speaker
- Professional experience in Voice Acting is greatly preferred but not required
- Speaking and audio experience through Music, Television, Podcasts, Twitch Streaming, Comedy, YouTube, Radio, or related fields welcomed
- Ability to talk in a “customer service” voice with a neutral to upbeat tone, clear enunciation, and consistent pacing
- Attention to detail on punctuation, commas, and dashes
- Ability to record transcripts exactly as written or edit them to reflect natural pacing
- Professional audio recording setup, such as a home studio with a professional-grade microphone, soundproofing, audio interface, pop filter, and editing software for post-production
- Ability to commit between 2–10 hours per week for the duration of the project
- Availability for a kickoff call
- Unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time
