Job Description
French voice actor recording neutral, expressive samples for Mercor’s AI research partner. Supporting TTS training and an internal CX AI Agent through voice cloning.
Responsibilities:
- Record high-quality voice samples across conversational, narrative, instructional, and other scripts
- Deliver clear, natural, and expressive speech with control over tone, pacing, and pronunciation
- Maintain consistency in voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions
- Follow detailed recording guidelines for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting
- Perform multiple takes with variation in emotion, emphasis, and style
- Contribute voice recordings to training and evaluation of text-to-speech systems
- Provide recordings exclusively for the client's internal CX AI Agent
- Work on projects focused on training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- Native or native-level French speaker
- Standard, neutral, accent-free French delivery with no strong regional accent or foreign-language influence
- Clear, natural, and expressive voice
- Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup, including quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter
- Strong command of intonation, diction, and emotional range
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while maintaining natural delivery
- Availability for a single approximately 4-hour recording session, with possible additional session
- Must be comfortable with voice cloning for the client's CX AI Agent
- Independent contractor status
- Experience with TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets is preferred
- Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, or Reaper is preferred
- Ability to deliver conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm vocal styles is preferred
- H1-B and STEM OPT candidates are not supported
