Job Description
VP leading U.S. Anesthesia Partners’ regional accounts receivable and revenue cycle operations. Optimizing collections, denials, reimbursement, compliance, and financial performance across healthcare teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute regional accounts receivable strategies aligned with enterprise revenue cycle goals
- Support productivity and quality expectations and enhance accountability frameworks and operating standards
- Lead initiatives to accelerate cash, reduce aged accounts receivable, and improve collection effectiveness
- Drive process standardization, automation, and technology optimization
- Provide executive oversight of government, commercial, and self-pay receivables
- Monitor accounts receivable and collection performance indicators, including AR days, aging, DSO, net collection rate, cash collections, denial rates, underpayment recovery, and inventory backlogs
- Escalate and resolve high-risk aging, payer issues, and revenue leakage opportunities
- Review regional close readiness and assess monthly cash and revenue performance risks
- Lead regional AR directors and managers to achieve productivity, quality, and financial targets
- Conduct business reviews and performance assessments
- Establish corrective action plans for underperforming regions, teams, or payer portfolios
- Implement inventory management and workload-balancing strategies
- Serve as executive liaison to operational leadership on AR performance and reimbursement trends
- Present performance results, risks, and mitigation strategies to executive leadership and stakeholders monthly
- Partner with operational stakeholders to improve revenue cycle outcomes
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning related to collections and AR performance
- Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and reduce write-offs
- Ensure regional collection targets and financial commitments are achieved
- Maintain compliance with payer regulations, government requirements, and organizational policies
- Ensure audit readiness and adherence to internal controls
- Monitor reimbursement trends and regulatory changes affecting collections
- Lead, mentor, and develop AR leadership teams
- Build succession plans and talent development strategies
- Champion employee engagement and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in business administration, healthcare administration, finance, or accounting is required; a master’s degree is desirable
- Minimum of 7-10 years progressive management experience in a $300 million-plus healthcare revenue cycle services entity
- Significant knowledge, exposure, and responsibility in physician healthcare reimbursement
- Minimum of 3 years’ anesthesia practice management experience with a large anesthesia group, preferably in a multi-unit organization with $100+ million in annual revenue
- Experience overseeing a 100+ employee team of healthcare billers and collectors, or a similar processing organization, preferably in multiple locations
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare billing and collection, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and self-pay
- Intimate familiarity with healthcare billing system software; AthenaIDX preferred
- Significant transformation and information technology experience in a high-volume processing environment
- Experience integrating platforms into a common platform through acquisitions or new business initiatives
- Lean Six Sigma knowledge and experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and business partnership abilities
- Metric- and process-focused leadership with financial, productivity, and patient-satisfaction orientation
