Job Description
Field Service Technician repairing and servicing JELD-WEN windows and doors across the Bay Area. Diagnosing issues, conducting water tests, and completing warranty repairs with frequent travel.
Responsibilities:
- Perform warranty field service tasks, including inspections and repairs of window and door products
- Document service activities and maintain accurate records
- Prepare detailed service reports with photos and descriptions
- Maintain tools and service vehicle
- Operate company vehicle safely
- Attend and document water tests, diagnose issues, and perform repairs
- Follow safety rules and participate in the Accident Prevention Program
- Manage the schedule for timely arrival and task preparedness
- Maintain professional interactions with customers and team members
- Travel by plane, car, or other means as necessary
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with others
- Submit expense reports on time
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in production or servicing vinyl windows and doors
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs., climb, lift, pull, and perform tasks on ladders and scaffolding
- Computer proficiency, including Office 365
- Dependable, self-motivated, and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Boom lift certification preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in servicing vinyl windows and doors preferred
- Experience observing and performing window water tests preferred
- Willingness to work indoors and outdoors year-round in varying weather
- Comfortable working at heights above 50 feet
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays and frequent overtime
