Job Description
Accounting Manager owning multi-entity reporting, close, controls, and crypto transaction accounting at Quidax. Supporting audits, compliance, forecasting, and CFO decision-making as African fintech scales.
Responsibilities:
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple entities
- Prepare and review entity-level and consolidated financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements
- Maintain reconciliations, schedules, journal entries, and supporting documentation
- Resolve intercompany accounts and eliminations
- Own accounting treatment for B2B products, contracts, revenue, fees, settlements, and client balances
- Record commissions, partner transactions, and settlement flows accurately and on time
- Collaborate with Settlement, Revenue Assurance, Operations, Commercial, and Treasury teams
- Translate complex, high-volume transaction flows into auditable accounting entries
- Strengthen controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, reconciliations, and intercompany movements
- Close accounting process control gaps and improve accounting procedures
- Apply correct accounting treatment to fiat and crypto-related transactions, including valuation, custody, fees, and taxes
- Reduce manual work, errors, and dependence on undocumented knowledge
- Maintain current, audit-ready accounting policies, process notes, schedules, and documentation
- Prepare accounting records and supporting documentation for external audits
- Work with auditors to resolve queries and close outstanding issues
- Support tax filings and statutory reporting across relevant jurisdictions
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable statutory requirements
- Identify and escalate accounting, control, and reporting risks
- Support budgeting and forecasting with reliable entity-level information
- Analyse variances and explain material movements
- Support the CFO with accounting analysis and financial information for decision-making
- Report directly to the CFO and work with Finance, Treasury, Settlement, Revenue Assurance, Operations, and Leadership teams
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Two or more years at Senior Associate level or above, or Assistant Manager and above
- Hands-on ownership of accounting numbers
- Experience in a top-tier audit or professional services environment, or an equally complex multi-entity business
- Exposure to multiple engagements, high transaction volumes, and rigorous reporting and control standards
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CPA, or equivalent qualification
- Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation
- Experience managing complex reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting issues across multiple accounts or entities
- Strong experience with month-end and year-end close, internal controls, and audit preparation
- Experience with complex accounts, multiple entities, or high transaction volumes
- Strong spreadsheet skills
- Ability to work effectively without relying on a heavy ERP
- Comfortable with detailed accounting work and senior stakeholder conversations
- Dependable, organised, and able to take ownership without close supervision
- Nice to have: experience supporting complex audit, reporting, or finance transformation engagements
- Nice to have: exposure to group consolidations and multi-jurisdiction reporting
- Nice to have: experience with financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or similarly complex client engagements
- Nice to have: familiarity with QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar platforms
- Nice to have: exposure to accounting for digital assets or cryptocurrency transactions
