Job Description

Accounting Manager overseeing ASC 606 revenue recognition, technical accounting, and U.S. GAAP compliance. Improving scalable accounting processes and supporting audits, reporting, and new products.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP
  • Analyze financial data and reports from multiple systems to validate results, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate accounting
  • Lead revenue recognition processes, including analysis of contracts, performance obligations, and complex multi-element arrangements under ASC 606
  • Prepare and review journal entries and financial statements during the monthly close
  • Evaluate accounting implications of new products and services and develop revenue recognition processes
  • Maintain effective internal controls and compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable accounting standards
  • Manage external audits and support preparation of audited financial statements
  • Improve, simplify, and automate accounting processes and reporting
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement scalable accounting solutions, systems, and processes
  • Stay current on accounting standards and advise management on relevant changes
  • Support development of accounting team members and promote collaboration
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies, procedures, and business ethics

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • Four years of experience in public or private accounting
  • Strong understanding and experience with ASC 606, including multi-element contracts and performance obligations
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with financial/accounting systems and large data sets
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to identify errors, investigate discrepancies, and assess the reasonableness of financial results
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow through
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to improve and simplify processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve accounting processes and analysis
