Job Description

Accounting Manager overseeing accounting processes for multi-entity healthcare operations. Collaborating with finance teams to ensure compliance and improve efficiency in Texas.

Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across multiple legal entities
  • Manage general ledger accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Assist with consolidation of financial statements across health plan, medical, and ACO entities
  • Prepare and review accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • Help design and implement scalable accounting processes, policies, and procedures to support organizational growth
  • Support establishment and maintenance of internal controls framework
  • Document standard operating procedures for accounting functions
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
  • Apply technical accounting knowledge to healthcare and insurance industry-specific transactions
  • Research and resolve accounting issues, including evaluation of new accounting standards
  • Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance on technical issues
  • Partner with Controller and senior finance team on accounting initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, operations, and clinical leadership
  • Support external audit processes and coordinate with external auditors
  • Utilize accounting systems and ERP platform to optimize accounting operations
  • Prepare financial reports and analysis for leadership and stakeholders
  • Support implementation of new accounting systems or system upgrades as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge with application of GAAP principles
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting, preferably in healthcare, insurance, or related industries
  • Experience building or improving accounting processes in growth-stage or startup environments
  • Experience with financial statement consolidation and account reconciliations
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision and can manage competing priorities independently
