Job Description
Accounting Specialist at L3Harris Technologies managing accounting cycle and financial reporting. Leading automation initiatives and collaborating on special projects with analytical acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities as needed for several accounting areas
- Evaluate financial data and perform different analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Responsible for the preparation of different reports for financial reporting purposes
- Communicate within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures
- Contribute to substantial improvements to processes to enhance performance within the job area
- Work to achieve departmental goals and operating plans with a direct impact on departmental results
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees
- Explain, interpret, and gain cooperation on accounting policies, procedures, and practices
- Solve problems through creative solutions, leveraging prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues
- Strong understanding on accounting principles (GAAP) and knowledge in internal controls and related regulations (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
- Strong communication skills for both internal and external interactions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
- CPA, CFA, CPP or CMA designation is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Costpoint Experience with Payroll Accounting and Time and Labor and systems ADP Smart Compliance
