Job Description
Accounting Consultant II at Allstate responsible for financial reporting, accounting processes, and supporting complex financial operations across multiple entities.
Responsibilities:
- Own and execute critical day-to-day accounting and reporting activities
- Prepare and support financial statements (GAAP and statutory), including related schedules and disclosures
- Perform financial consolidations, ensuring accuracy and proper elimination of intercompany transactions
- Maintain and analyze general ledger activity, ensuring transactions are recorded appropriately
- Prepare journal entries, account analyses, and variance explanations to support the monthly close
- Execute and review account reconciliations, including those involving complex accounting processes
- Validate system functionality and ensure accounting rules and processes operate correctly
- Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights
- Collaborate cross-functionally with multiple finance teams and business units
- Contribute to and lead process improvement and transformation initiatives
Requirements:
- Required CPA or CPA-eligible (actively pursuing or completed educational requirements)
- Experience with financial reporting and general ledger accounting
- Strong understanding of how financial statements are constructed and interrelated
- Knowledge of accounting principles and transaction flows
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities
- Preferred 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Consolidations experience in a multi-entity environment
