Job Description
Adjunct nursing faculty teaching online Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice courses for Wilkes University. Applying advanced clinical expertise and graduate-level teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
- Teach online Graduate Nursing courses in the NP and DNP programs
- Apply practice-based experience in relevant nursing course areas and specialties
- Teach subjects including advanced health assessment, pathophysiology, pharmacology, advanced practice nursing, psychiatric/mental health nursing, diagnostic reasoning, epidemiology, family nurse practitioner content, psychopharmacology, and scholarly review
- Communicate and lead multi-level problem solving with students, Wilkes University administration and staff
- Engage students in active learning to achieve course and program outcomes
- Use learning management systems to support online instruction
Requirements:
- Doctorally prepared (PhD/DNP) candidates preferred for core didactic and NP specialty courses
- Candidates currently completing a terminal degree may be considered with significant relevant clinical and academic experience
- Minimum of two years of current advanced clinical practice experience required for NP specialty didactic and clinical courses
- Current, unrestricted RN licensure in a compact state
- Candidates teaching clinical or NP specialty courses must hold or be eligible for Pennsylvania RN/APRN licensure
- Maintain applicable national board certification
- Minimum of two years of successful online teaching experience for graduate-level courses from an accredited university
- Communication and ability to take a lead role in multi-level problem solving with students, Wilkes University administration and staff
- Proven ability to engage students in active learning to meet required course and program outcomes
- Experience with learning management systems (LMSs); D2L / Brightspace preferred
- Submit curriculum vitae or resume, cover letter, 3 professional references, current unencumbered RN license, APRN license, national board certification as appropriate, and degree transcripts
- Official transcripts required before teaching for Wilkes University
