Job Description
Adjunct nursing faculty teaching asynchronous RN-BSN and BSN courses at Joyce University. Mentoring students through remote instruction, assessment, and virtual engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive online classroom environment
- Interact with students fairly, professionally, and compassionately
- Support and assess student academic achievement and professional growth
- Encourage analytical thinking, participation, and meaningful discussion
- Motivate students to advance their education and nursing careers
- Teach assigned RN-BSN and BSN asynchronous courses in alignment with course objectives and university standards
- Ensure courses are accurate, organized, and fully prepared before student engagement begins
- Present course content in engaging, accessible, and motivating ways
- Utilize effective instructional strategies and learning technologies
- Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours
- Grade assignments within 72 hours of submission
- Maintain an active faculty presence through announcements, discussion participation, and weekly course engagement
- Hold at least one hour of virtual office hours each week
- Record and share weekly course overview videos
- Adhere to university policies, academic standards, and faculty expectations
- Maintain attendance, grades, and student records accurately
- Communicate proactively with Student Services and academic leadership regarding student concerns or course-related issues
- Participate in faculty meetings, committee work, and university activities as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university to support student outcomes and program excellence
- Stay engaged in the nursing profession through continuing education, professional organizations, conferences, and research
- Participate in faculty development and curriculum improvement initiatives
- Explore innovative teaching methods and share best practices with colleagues
- Pursue lifelong learning to strengthen clinical expertise and instructional excellence
Requirements:
- Unencumbered RN license
- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
- Passion for teaching and student development
- Strong written communication and organizational skills
- Comfort with online learning platforms and virtual instruction
- Doctoral degree or other terminal professional degree (preferred)
- Previous online teaching experience (preferred)
- Experience teaching BSN or RN-BSN students (preferred)
