Job Description
Adjunct Generative AI Instructor teaching adult learners through competency-based online education. Providing AI expertise, personalized support, feedback, and mentorship at Calbright College.
Responsibilities:
- Steward Calbright’s mission and strategic vision through equity-centered, competency-based education
- Provide timely, substantive, constructive feedback to students
- Monitor student progress and proactively offer support
- Provide expertise in Artificial Intelligence and maintain current field knowledge
- Foster student learning through innovative, effective teaching practices
- Respond to students’ needs and communicate professionally with the Calbright community
- Use technology-based teaching and communication platforms to support competency development
- Collaborate with university professionals to promote a positive, student-centric atmosphere
- Assess and validate student work based on mastery of industry skills and knowledge
- Encourage engagement with peers, the instructor, and learning resources
- Document student engagement, outreach, and interventions
- Offer weekly office hours, web chats, or learning sessions
- Communicate through university-designated systems and assigned email accounts
- Adhere to College policies and complete mandatory training
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Cognitive Science
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to work a student-friendly schedule (evenings/weekends)
- Experience mentoring, training, or teaching adults
- Expertise in Artificial Intelligence while maintaining currency in the field
- Demonstrated ability to customize instructional support for adults with a variety of needs and educational backgrounds
- Strong understanding, adherence, and promotion of Calbright’s competency-based education model
- Proficiency with Google Suite (or similar) applications, virtual instructional platforms, and collaboration tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Extraordinary customer service orientation
- Ability to use data to make decisions
- Current Industry-aligned certification(s) (desired)
- Online teaching experience (desired)
- Interdisciplinary background (desired)
- Experience applying social and emotional learning strategies with adult learners (desired)
