Job Description
Admissions Counselor providing personal advising and support to prospective online students at Westminster Theological Seminary. Engaging with applicants to facilitate their application process.
Responsibilities:
- Serve with the department director and team to provide professional, prompt, and friendly interaction with prospective students for our online Mdiv, MAR and MATS degree programs.
- The role provides personal advising to applicants by helping them assess their fit for the program and providing high-quality support throughout the application process.
- Provide highly-rated customer support for prospective students by responding to logistic questions such as program structure, cost, financial aid, transfer of credits, and other program details through our various platforms for communication. (30%)
- Offer personal advising to applicants by helping them assess their fit for the program and providing high-quality support throughout the application process. (30%)
- Maintain our application processing platform by responding to incoming conversations, organizing the contacts in the CRM system, rerouting messages to other staff as needed, and more. (20%)
- Provide 1-on-1 video and phone appointments to prospective students. Availability should be distributed throughout the week (TBD with team) to accommodate the varying schedules of inquirers. (20%)
Requirements:
- Demonstrates ability to excel in team-oriented collaboration
- Proven self-management skills; highly self-motivated and proactive
- Ability to multitask, evaluate and balance competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to organize and manage large amount of prospective student data
- Empathetic and service-oriented
- Ability to engage and communicate with prospective students from different cultures, in a relational manner
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and gain proficiency in CRM management
- Ability to adapt in a quick-paced environment
- Familiarity with history, faculty, and theology of Westminster; strong understanding of WTS mission and institution
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Westminster degree preferred but not required
