Job Description
AI-first iOS engineer building SwiftUI features for OPENLANE’s digital used-vehicle marketplace. Shipping tested mobile experiences and using AI to accelerate development.
Responsibilities:
- Build, evolve, and scale OPENLANE’s digital marketplace mobile experiences
- Implement iOS features primarily in modern SwiftUI across seller and buyer marketplace experiences
- Ship flag-gated work and meet dual-OS PR gate expectations with support
- Write unit and UI tests
- Use AI tools daily to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging, then verify outputs before merge
- Collaborate with Product and design
- Learn shared platform concerns under Senior guidance
- Pair with Android counterparts on shared product behavior
- Collaborate daily with Product Managers, designers, backend and platform engineers, QA, Senior iOS engineers, and the sibling Android mobile team
- Report to an Engineering Manager (Mobile)
- Apply AI-assisted coding, refactoring, test coverage, validation, debugging, root-cause analysis, documentation, and knowledge sharing to reduce repetitive work and increase engineering leverage
Requirements:
- 3+ years professional iOS development (or equivalent depth)
- Proficiency in Swift
- Experience building apps with SwiftUI
- Experience shipping at least one App Store app
- AI-first mindset and active use of AI development tools with critical evaluation of outputs
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience shipping production iOS features in a team codebase
- Solid Swift and SwiftUI skills; willingness to navigate UIKit where it still exists
- Comfort with CI, tests, and code review
- Growing end-to-end ownership of features with guidance from Senior engineers
- Curiosity about applying AI to real customer and business problems
- Ability to critically evaluate AI outputs instead of blindly accepting them
- Comfort learning and adapting in a fast-changing tool landscape
- Basic networking and app architecture (MVVM or similar)
- Familiarity with feature flags and mobile analytics
- Unit and/or UI testing
- Willingness to grow snapshot testing
- Nice to have: Snapshot testing experience
- Nice to have: Exposure to SPM modules and shared UI component libraries
- Nice to have: Marketplace / e-commerce mobile experience
- Nice to have: Interest in growing into auth, flags, and analytics ownership over time
- Nice to have: Familiarity with hybrid WebView surfaces
