Job Description
Strategy analyst driving corporate strategy, financial modeling, and M&A execution at cybersecurity company Rapid7. Supporting executive decisions, market analysis, and long-range transformation planning.
Responsibilities:
- Drive corporate strategy and evaluate market opportunities
- Support M&A execution and act as a strategic partner to business leaders
- Advise on product strategies, market entry, competitive positioning, operational improvement, and customer opportunity capture
- Create complex financial models and conduct valuation analyses using DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions, and sum-of-the-parts methodologies
- Evaluate potential targets, partners, and investments
- Prepare deal materials including teasers, information memoranda, management presentations, and term sheets
- Coordinate cross-functional due diligence to identify risks and opportunities
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis
- Track deal activity and evaluate peer-company and adjacent-sector financial performance
- Synthesize findings into executive-ready PowerPoint decks for executive leadership and Board discussions
- Support Rapid7’s annual and long-range strategic plans
- Align company priorities with market opportunities
Requirements:
- 1.5–3+ years of investment banking, corporate development, or corporate strategy experience with a heavily quantitative background
- Proven ability to build financial models from scratch
- Experience applying DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transactions valuation methodologies
- Strong familiarity with M&A execution processes, due diligence, deal documentation, and competitive landscape analysis
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills
- Deep interest in enterprise technology, SaaS metrics, deal activity, and how tech companies scale and transform
- Ability to manage multiple parallel work streams independently
- Ability to work across boundaries with cross-functional business leaders
- Strong understanding of self to adapt to group dynamics and navigate complex strategic scenarios
