Job Description
Associate Director leading eDiscovery technology, legal holds, data collection, and AI-assisted review workflows at Lilly, a life-changing medicines company.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the strategic roadmap for Lilly's eDiscovery program
- Design technical specifications and SOPs for defensible, efficient, and consistent EDRM processes
- Share management of Lilly’s legal hold platform and vendor relationship
- Provide daily operational support and drive technology enhancements
- Partner with business areas to preserve data under legal hold requirements across enterprise systems, data lakes, system retirements, and acquisition integrations
- Integrate and automate legal hold systems
- Define, automate, and manage data collection from varied systems, formats, and metadata with appropriate chain of custody
- Share management of eDiscovery data processing, review, and platform-hosting vendor relationships
- Oversee vendor service quality, efficiency, and cost
- Evaluate and partner with vendors to implement AI and machine learning solutions, including TAR/CAL, predictive coding, and advanced analytics
- Advise on complex and ambiguous eDiscovery scenarios while sequencing technical execution against deadlines and system constraints
- Partner with outside counsel, Legal, Privacy, Records Management, IT, Compliance, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders
- Mentor teammates and collaborate cross-functionally across EDRM stages
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, information management, legal studies, or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in eDiscovery operations or legal technology
- Hands-on experience managing eDiscovery tools and platforms across the EDRM lifecycle
- Authorization to work full-time in the United States
- ACEDS, LegalTech, or similar certification(s) is a strong-candidate qualification
- PMP certification is a strong-candidate qualification
- Experience collecting data from multinational, multisystem enterprise environments with complex metadata requirements is a strong-candidate qualification
- Experience automating eDiscovery workflows is a strong-candidate qualification
- Direct experience implementing TAR/CAL, predictive coding, or analytics tools in live litigation review is a strong-candidate qualification
- Ability to explain technical eDiscovery concepts to non-technical senior leaders
