Job Description
Associate Energy Engineer responsible for analyzing utility bills and contributing to energy efficiency projects for clients in the U.S. Focused on practical solutions to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
Responsibilities:
- collection and analysis of utility bills and consumption data
- responding to the team project managers and energy engineers’ requests for research and reporting
- supporting the project and client needs
- Tasks will include utility bill analysis, energy simulation modeling, utility rebate program analysis, ASHRAE Level I and II energy auditing, technology feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, building commissioning participation, report generation, energy efficiency research, and project development
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, sciences, or other relevant disciplines
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel including the use of pivot charts, mathematical functions, statistical functions, and regression analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Understanding of major building components including HVAC, lighting, and building control systems
- Basic understanding of building construction and structural design
- Ability to identify and analyze energy savings opportunities and use Excel-based tools for generating cost and savings estimates for solutions in HVAC, lighting, building controls, and building envelope
- Ability to read and analyze utility bills including an understanding of common rate structures, tariffs rates, and the ability to differentiate between ‘demand’ and ‘energy’ charges
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in team environment with minimal supervision
