Job Description
Associate General Counsel shaping HealthEquity’s legal strategy for regulated healthcare and financial-services products. Advising on compliance, partnerships, privacy, IP, and growth initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the company’s legal strategy supporting compliant development and launch of new products, services, and strategic commercial partnerships across healthcare and financial services
- Provide strategic guidance throughout the product lifecycle
- Ensure regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, and risk mitigation
- Navigate complex and evolving regulatory frameworks
- Translate new laws into actionable guidance
- Partner with business, technology, product, and marketing teams to enable growth initiatives
- Advise on legal and regulatory issues for consumer-facing products
- Negotiate agreements for new offerings and partnerships
- Embed legal partnership into product development
- Oversee intellectual property management
- Support process improvements to enhance agility in legal and business operations
- Report to executive leadership
Requirements:
- At least 10 years of experience advising on product development in regulated industries
- Strong background in both financial services and healthcare
- Expertise in UDAP, ERISA welfare benefit plans, HSAs, GLBA, HIPAA, and data privacy is highly valued
- Ability to synthesize complex legal issues
- Ability to provide practical risk management advice
- Ability to influence at all levels, including C-suite and board
- Growth mindset, adaptability, and collaborative approach
