Job Description
Contract Surety Underwriter managing large and complex accounts with substantial experience in underwriting. Collaborating with agents while ensuring compliance with guidelines and enhancing client relationships throughout the Western United States.
Responsibilities:
- Manage complex large accounts
- Travel approximately 20% across the region
- Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business for large contract surety
- Build and maintain strategic broker and agency relationships
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing, Finance, Accounting, or Banking OR 10+ years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3+ years in Underwriting OR 8+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong finance and accounting background
- Ability to investigate and analyze complicated credit assessments
- Experience with establishing broker relationships
- Excellent negotiation skills with large organizations
