Job Description

Builder/Architect Specialist driving skylight adoption in California by integrating VELUX solutions into builder and architect project specifications. Focused on creating partnerships and ensuring skylights are embedded in specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage architects, builders, and key decision-makers across custom, regional, and national builder markets.
  • Concentrate efforts on regional residential builders, custom home builder/architect tracks, and key design influencers.
  • Deliver compelling presentations showing how skylights transform residential design and create competitive differentiation.
  • Ensure skylights are integrated into project specifications and collaborate with the VELUX Sales team to close deals.
  • Actively track project pipelines and conversion from specification to skylight sales.
  • Build strong networks within local builder and architect communities, including HBAs and AIA chapters.
  • Facilitate and coordinate joint builder/architect events, Lunch & Learns, and HBA/CA trade show participation.
  • Engage in local community events to expand awareness and adoption of skylight solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency and impact of builder/architect messaging.
  • Contribute to lead management systems, project tracking, and team KPIs for the 2026 Pilot.
  • Provide reporting on project specifications, conversion rates, and skylight sales outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in architectural/design sales, building product sales, or equivalent transferable experience.
  • Knowledge of building/design industry is an advantage but not required; candidates with strong transferable skills in B2B consultative sales, project-based sales, or design engagement are encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and presentation tools required.
  • Experience with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Chief Architect) preferred.
  • Excellent communication, consultative sales, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and close sales.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30 days per year.
