Job Description
Catastrophe property adjuster handling complex homeowner claims for Allstate insurance customers. Inspecting damage, determining coverage, writing estimates, and negotiating settlements with extensive travel.
Responsibilities:
- Handle claims at loss sites damaged by fire, water, weather, theft, or other unexpected events, as well as virtually from home
- Conduct detailed property inspections and write estimates capturing the extent of damage
- Settle large homeowner claims involving complex structural losses
- Use advanced video technology to collaborate with onsite vendors and estimate virtual damage
- Review policies, determine coverage, and explain estimates and policy decisions to customers
- Communicate empathetically with customers throughout the claim process
- Negotiate claim settlements according to business-unit methodologies
- Use data and analytics to influence decision-making
- Research and respond to complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts, and issues
- Document claim files with notes, evaluations, and decision-making processes
- Investigate, review, determine, and verify complex coverage and policy information
- Handle complex contents inventories, pricing analyses, mitigation bills, and claims reports
- Handle and occasionally negotiate complex claims involving Public Adjusters
- Serve as committee team lead or team member on projects
- Reinspect complex damage estimates and provide quality-evaluation coaching
- Act as a resource to leadership on complex claim, coverage, and high-severity matters
- Handle inside investigations of complex mortgagee claims
- Review customer-satisfaction results and recommend, design, and implement action plans
- Manage, research, and resolve complex customer communications, concerns, conflicts, and issues
Requirements:
- 5 or more years of property adjusting experience
- Construction or trades experience
- Proficient knowledge of all regional construction types and related repair methodologies
- Advanced knowledge of all regional construction types and related repair methodologies
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Active Listening, Critical Thinking, Time Management, and Working Independently
- Xactimate proficiency
- Ability to work a 10/4 schedule, with hours of 7-7
- Ability to travel 70% or more
- Ability to work independently, within a team, face-to-face, and virtually
- Ability to engage and participate on camera during online meetings and training
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
- Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions, with appropriate desk and seating
- Must submit to a background investigation
- Office/area may require obtaining an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire
- This position is not available for residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, or Washington
