Job Description
Property desk adjuster investigating, evaluating, and settling homeowners claims for National General insurance. Managing complex coverage, damages, supplements, ALE, contents, fraud, and subrogation matters remotely.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish
- Confirm facts of loss and determine coverage
- Assess damages and negotiate settlements within assigned authority
- Manage the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense claims, contents, and personal property losses
- Work with customers, contractors, and other partners to handle claims accurately and efficiently
- Deliver excellent customer service through clear, timely communication
- Apply increased experience at the Adjuster II level or rotate into specialty positions
- Partner with fraud or subrogation representatives to achieve optimal outcomes
- Recognize key components of residential construction and repair, including structural integrity and home systems
- Identify complex customer needs and address them using appropriate customer service skills
- Determine subrogation or fraud potential and appropriate handling
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of company insurance policies, the industry, and organizational relationships
- Investigate complex Homeowners first-party claims involving coverage, damages, and subrogation with discretion and independence
- No supervisory duties
Requirements:
- Experienced Property Desk Adjuster
- Preferably located in North Carolina
- Proficiency in Xactimate
- Strong foundation in claims handling, including supplements, ALE, contents, and full claim ownership
- Experience handling claims in both field and desk settings strongly preferred
- Active adjuster license or a license qualifying for reciprocity in applicable states strongly preferred
- Must possess authorization to work in the United States
- Employer does not sponsor individuals for work visas
- Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home
- Appropriate desk and seating
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
- Individuals holding an active insurance license must terminate existing appointments before onboarding and may not hold outside appointments during employment
- Applicants with a resident producer license must surrender it when instructed by the licensing team
