Job Description
Field Property Adjuster investigating and evaluating homeowners property claims for National General, an insurer offering home, auto, and specialty coverage. Managing estimates, coverage, damages, and settlements remotely across Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and evaluate homeowners property claims from start to finish
- Confirm facts of loss, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements within assigned authority
- Manage the entire claim lifecycle, including supplements, Additional Living Expense claims, contents, and personal property losses
- Work closely with customers, contractors, and other partners to handle claims accurately and efficiently
- Provide clear and timely communication and keep customers informed throughout the claims process
- Create estimates of damages for complex first-party homeowner losses
- Build relationships with internal and external customers
- Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document claim activities
- Apply policy interpretations across company-written policy types
- Assist leadership with formal and ad hoc training
- Recommend process improvements
- No supervisory duties
Requirements:
- Experienced Field Property Adjuster
- Located preferably in the central or eastern parts of Massachusetts
- Proficiency in Xactimate
- Strong foundation in claims handling, including supplements, ALE, contents, and full claim ownership
- Experience handling claims in both field and desk settings strongly preferred
- Active adjuster license or a license qualifying for reciprocity in applicable states strongly preferred
- Active insurance license holders must terminate all existing appointments before onboarding and may not hold outside appointments during employment
- Applicants with a resident producer license must surrender that license when instructed by the licensing team
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
- Must comply with applicable insurance licensing requirements
