Job Description
Remote property adjuster investigating and estimating complex homeowner, farm, and ranch claims for National General Insurance. Negotiating settlements across designated Kansas and Wyoming service areas.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate and confirm facts of loss for complex homeowner claims
- Determine coverage and damages and adjust and negotiate claims within authority limits
- Create comprehensive damage estimates for complex first-party homeowner claims
- Serve as a peer mentor and provide direction to more junior employees
- Support a designated territory through on-site inspections and virtual claim handling
- Investigate and manage moderate to complex residential property, farm, and ranch claims
- Build relationships with internal and external customers
- Interpret regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
- Negotiate settlements, make settlement payments, and document claim activities
- Interpret company policy types and assist with formal and ad hoc training
- Recommend process improvements
Requirements:
- Candidates must reside within or near Fort Morgan or Sterling, CO; McPherson or Salina, KS; Lincoln, NE; Bemidji or Moorhead, MN; or Cheyenne or Casper, WY
- Must possess authorization to work in the United States
- National General does not sponsor individuals for work visas
- Strong estimating skills
- Proficiency with Xactimate
- Ability to manage challenging situations and deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Experience handling agricultural, farm, and ranch claims highly preferred
- Applicable active licenses may include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License
- Dedicated, private workspace free from distractions when working from home
- Appropriate desk and seating
- Reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload
