Job Description

Bilingual Medical Assistant processing prescription refills for Carenet Health’s remote healthcare support program. Supporting patients, providers, and pharmacists while ensuring accurate, compliant refill operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and respond to prescription refill requests through phone, email, fax, and Telephone Encounter
  • Verify the validity and accuracy of prescription refill requests in compliance with regulatory guidelines
  • Prepare and dispense prescription refills accurately and efficiently according to organizational protocols
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Compile and analyze data, track key performance indicators, present findings to departmental leadership, and identify trends
  • Adhere to assigned schedules and quality metrics while maintaining productivity and efficiency
  • Provide administrative support to clinical staff and managers for special projects, studies, and reports related to medication refill programs
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize workflow efficiency and enhance patient care outcomes
  • Communicate with bilingual patients, physicians, and pharmacists regarding prescription refills

Requirements:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a retail pharmacy
  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare Part D, particularly pharmacy record review, claims, billing and reimbursement rules
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and CMS security requirements
  • Working knowledge of Medicare Part B and Part D coverage guidelines and payment methodologies
  • Proficient bilingual language skills—read, write, and speak Spanish and English
  • Basic PC and keyboarding skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and e-mail
  • Current, unrestricted license required
  • Medical Assistant must be certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants or be a Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company software, guidelines, health references, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
  • General writing skills and ability to produce work free from typographical or spelling errors
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic algebra
  • Ability to deal with and solve problems using solid judgment skills
