Job Description
Client Accounting Manager delivering high-quality financial management for Davies’ client base. Leading a team of accounting coordinators with responsibilities in payroll and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee payroll, premium billing, vendor management, administrative checks, and year-end close in coordination with auditors and state filings
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and analyze budget-to-actual performance
- Ensure timely state filings, statutory reports, and provide ongoing support to auditors and regulators
- Forecast and manage cash flow, oversee transfers, and maintain fiduciary control of banking access
- Maintain Sage accounting system, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and reinsurance/premium adjustments
- Review/approve administrative transactions, coordinate payroll/benefits/tax filings, and support process
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- CPA and prior industry experience preferred, not required
- 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and statutory reporting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financials for boards and clients
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Sage accounting systems preferred
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information
- Proven track record in financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
- Experience in insurance, reinsurance, risk pools, or related industries a plus
