Job Description

Client Accounting Manager delivering high-quality financial management for Davies’ client base. Leading a team of accounting coordinators with responsibilities in payroll and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll, premium billing, vendor management, administrative checks, and year-end close in coordination with auditors and state filings
  • Prepare and present monthly/quarterly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and analyze budget-to-actual performance
  • Ensure timely state filings, statutory reports, and provide ongoing support to auditors and regulators
  • Forecast and manage cash flow, oversee transfers, and maintain fiduciary control of banking access
  • Maintain Sage accounting system, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and reinsurance/premium adjustments
  • Review/approve administrative transactions, coordinate payroll/benefits/tax filings, and support process

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
  • CPA and prior industry experience preferred, not required
  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing teams
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including GAAP and statutory reporting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financials for boards and clients
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Sage accounting systems preferred
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential financial information
  • Proven track record in financial reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in insurance, reinsurance, risk pools, or related industries a plus
