Job Description
Community Moderator supporting Udacity’s UAE scholarship communities. Moderating forums, assisting learners, enforcing guidelines, and driving engaging online learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Help Community Managers moderate Udacity’s scholarship communities
- Monitor the forum daily, including weekends, a minimum of twice per day, ideally several hours apart
- Provide students with non-technical support within the community
- Handle violation posts and ensure members follow community guidelines
- Occasionally support the Community Manager with performance summaries when requested
- Support forum activities and brainstorm ways to increase member engagement
- Attend regular online meetings with Udacity representatives
- Respond in group discussions with Udacity representatives
- Ensure all members have a fun and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
- Residing in UAE
- Udacity course/Nanodegree Graduate is an added plus
- Good knowledge of online communities and ability to stay cool under pressure
- Strong internet connection, as daily duties are fully online
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a proactive approach
- Understanding of online community platform moderation tools (forums, commenting, content management, etc.)
- Knowledge of Udacity’s services, targeted audience, and community culture
- Ability to effectively communicate information and report when needed
- Good knowledge of customer service principles
- Availability to work across days, evenings, and weekends as required
- Student-oriented mindset with a focus on understanding learner needs
- Flexibility to take on this challenge as a part-time external contractor alongside a current job
