Job Description
Community Pharmacy Team Lead supporting AnewHealth’s pharmacy care management services. Supervising pharmacy teams and coordinating safe, compliant medication operations for complex-care patients.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to assigned pharmacists and technicians
- Assist the Community Pharmacy Team Manager with workflow, staffing alignment, work queues, service levels, and task completion
- Serve as a first point of escalation for workflow, patient care, documentation, dispensing support, and client-specific issues
- Prioritize urgent, same-day, next-business-day, cycle-fill, and other operational requests
- Support resolution of medication access, prescription processing, documentation, and patient-care barriers
- Monitor team productivity, quality, timeliness, and compliance
- Assist with onboarding, training, coaching, and staff development
- Oversee same-day technician pre-check and pharmacist verification queues
- Support ATM dispensing, Community Pharmacy Network transfers, medication procurement, billing, insurance, and processing activities
- Maintain patient medication profiles and care documentation
- Review medication questions, escalations, medication requests, changes, and clinical information
- Assist pharmacists with medication-related problem identification and recommendations
- Support medication profile review, cycle-fill review, medication review preparation, counseling, education, and clinical clarification
- Participate in prospective drug utilization review and assigned on-call or after-hours support
- Monitor compliance, quality standards, documentation, dispensing support, and pharmacy practice expectations
- Investigate and resolve quality assurance, HIPAA, fraud, waste, abuse, and medication access concerns
- Provide reports, feedback, and analysis to the Community Pharmacy Team Manager
- Collaborate with operations, clinical leadership, account management, IT, software development, fulfillment, and other partners
- Participate in process improvement, staff education, workflow redesign, and new procedure or technology implementation
- Communicate with pharmacists, technicians, clients, prescribers, patients, caregivers, community pharmacies, and internal departments
- Escalate urgent or high-risk matters and promote collaboration between pharmacists and technicians
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- PharmD required
- BCGP required
- Current, active license in the state of New Jersey required
- Must be registered or eligible to become registered with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire
- 1+ years of pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy, geriatric pharmacy, PACE, long-term care, community pharmacy, or related healthcare experience
- Prior experience providing day-to-day team guidance, workflow coordination, training, mentoring, or informal leadership
- Experience in a call center, centralized pharmacy, clinical operations, medication management, or high-volume pharmacy environment
- Experience with quality assurance, documentation review, performance improvement, and staff coaching
- Experience supporting geriatric patients, medically complex populations, or interdisciplinary care teams
- Experience with internal pharmacy systems, EHR platforms, pharmacy dispensing systems, clinical decision support tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Strong technical and computer skills for proprietary and pharmacy software
- Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management skills
- Strong data entry capability
- Strong analytical skills, clinical judgment, and decision-making
- Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations, including HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse
- Ability to work with urgency, under pressure, multitask, and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
- High level of integrity

- Availability for 2:00–10:30 PM ET Monday–Friday
- Average of 40 hours per week, with availability outside normal business hours on an ad-hoc basis
- Rotating weekly on-call oversight schedule required
