Job Description
Cisco Consulting Engineer delivering wireless planning, deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting services. Supporting enterprise and service-provider WLAN projects across customer environments.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver wireless planning, design, implementation, and optimization services to Cisco’s major accounts
- Perform architectural planning and design
- Provide configuration and integration support
- Provide operational support for complex wireless network deployments
- Identify and document design and architecture guidelines for global Cisco Services adoption
- Work with the Customer Experience team, customer support teams, Cisco TAC, development engineering, and sales teams
- Participate in complex network builds, performance engineering, fixes, and problem resolution for WLAN-related projects
Requirements:
- BSEE/CS or equivalent
- Confirmed ability in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment
- MS strongly preferred
- Deep technical account leadership skills
- In-depth knowledge of wireless technology, specifically Meraki dashboard
- RF design, survey/engineering, and troubleshooting skills using Ekahau or Hamina
- IP network design skills
- Working understanding of deploying Cisco Spaces in a customer environment
- Experience designing and deploying WLAN applications, including Voice over WLAN, Context-Aware Location-Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access
- Detailed understanding of WLAN security and network management, including ISE and/or RADIUS services
- Expert-level internetworking problem-solving in a large-scale network environment
- Must be available to travel 25% to on-site customer meetings and site-specific fixes
