Job Description
Customer Business Manager growing CPG brands through Food City retail sales, merchandising, and strategic client plans. Supporting CROSSMARK’s data-driven retail marketing and brand activation services.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the retailer expert and execute client plans within Food City
- Grow client business within assigned retailers faster than the category and retailer overall
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and customers within an assigned geographic region
- Present targeted strategic client plans based on customer and retailer insights
- Execute plans covering sales, share, distribution, promotion, pricing, merchandising, and financial management
- Communicate proactively with the Client Team about status updates, opportunities, expectations, and business-plan needs
- Communicate customer changes and insights across relevant CROSSMARK roles
- Use CROSSVIEW as the business-planning, communication, and execution framework
- Support Business Account Managers and stakeholders in developing client plans and brand-promotion strategies
- Identify and sell additional client services using client strategy, performance, and customer insights
- Support preparation for and participate in CROSSVIEW Business Reviews and presentations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 3+ years of experience in the CPG industry (preferred)
- 5+ years of sales experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Intermediate Excel skills, including PivotTables
- Strong communication skills, including listening, presentation, written, and verbal communication
- Insights-based, consultative selling and negotiation skills
- Intermediate category management knowledge, including the “4 Ps”
- Solid business acumen and awareness of market and industry trends
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Customer service mindset
- Professionalism and ability to perform under pressure
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within the U.S. for customer, client, or company meetings as needed
- Ability to transport sample products to account calls
