Job Description
Director of Accounting overseeing financial operations at Second Sight Solutions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and managing accounting processes. Requires strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of all necessary financial statements
- Partner with FP&A Manager to ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely
- Own management of cash balances and any potential lines of credit
- Partner with FP&A manager on forecasting of cash needs
- Completion of annual audit and coordination with auditors on technical matters
- Supervise tax consultants in maintaining partnership accounts, K-1s, partner communications and managing partnership filings/compliance and sales & usage tax filings
- Liaison with corporate tax team of parent to transition preparation of income tax provision and other tax related entries for GAAP accounting
- Manage the processing of all accounts payables and receivables
- Monitor the accuracy of financial data and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Partner with VP – Finance and FP&A Manager to provide financial guidance and support to department heads
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and federal and state tax laws
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
