Job Description
Market access director leading U.S. payer strategy and Smart Access Reimbursement for Saluda Medical’s closed-loop neuromodulation device. Driving coverage, coding, contracting, and evidence-based access.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Saluda's U.S. market access, coverage, and reimbursement strategy
- Own, manage, and continuously improve the Smart Access Reimbursement program
- Oversee prior authorization support, appeals strategy, benefit investigation, and case escalation pathways
- Define program KPIs and report approval rates, turnaround times, and denial overturn rates to commercial leadership
- Manage vendor and hub-services relationships and support training for field teams and provider offices
- Serve as escalation point for complex access cases and emerging payer barriers
- Develop and execute national and regional payer strategies for SCS and closed-loop therapy
- Monitor and shape CPT/HCPCS, DRG/APC, physician fee schedule, coverage, and payment dynamics across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid channels
- Track and respond to CMS policy developments, including the Ambulatory Specialty Model and other value-based initiatives
- Lead value-based and shared-risk contracting frameworks using Evoke's objective ECAP data
- Translate clinical and real-world evidence into payer-facing value dossiers, objection handlers, and coverage advocacy materials
- Support medical policy engagement, technology assessments, draft policy responses, and payer advisory interactions
- Build relationships with medical societies to advance coverage advocacy, coding initiatives, and clinical guideline development
- Equip Sales and field reimbursement resources with access-conversation tools, training, and messaging
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Therapy Awareness, Clinical, Regulatory, and Finance teams
- Build and mentor market access talent and manage direct reports or contracted field reimbursement resources as assigned
- Represent Saluda with professional societies, coalitions, and industry groups on reimbursement and policy matters
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MHA, JD) preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in medical device market access, reimbursement, or payer strategy
- Neuromodulation, spine, or interventional pain experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success managing a reimbursement support / hub-services program, including vendor oversight and KPI management
- Deep working knowledge of U.S. coding, coverage, and payment systems across hospital outpatient, ASC, and physician office sites of service
- Experience engaging payers directly on medical policy, coverage expansion, and contracting
- Familiarity with CMS payment models and value-based care trends
- Strong cross-functional leadership and executive communication skills
- Experience launching or defending coverage for a novel Class III device or breakthrough technology preferred
- Prior work on value-based or risk-sharing agreements using device-generated objective data preferred
- Established payer and specialty-society relationships in the pain management space preferred
