Job Description
Director managing food-bank relationships, compliance, and risk across Feeding America’s nationwide hunger-relief network. Building member capacity, advising leadership, and driving cross-functional engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary relationship and risk manager for a portfolio of Partner Food Banks and Affiliate Food Banks
- Lead education, interpretation, and implementation of food bank agreements and the Network Charter
- Lead strategic adoption of changes in Network Standards, Network Agreements, and related requirements
- Lead Network Standards Reviews, assess adherence to agreements, and direct corrective action strategies to mitigate enterprise risk
- Support Partner Food Banks in conducting Network Standards Reviews with Affiliate Food Banks
- Develop enduring relationships with executive leaders and organizations to identify member needs and create action plans
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data, reports, and opportunities to provide tailored member solutions
- Support organizations that are not meeting agreement standards by identifying underlying issues and developing remedy action plans
- Identify, evaluate, collect, elevate, and share promising, best, and next practices to build Network capacity
- Collaborate with the Director, Member Engagement - Strategic Initiatives on key projects
- Collaborate with the Food Safety team to support safe handling and distribution of products
- Lead resolution of conflicts and grievances with Network Members
- Advise Boards of Directors and Executive Leadership on recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support of board members, CEOs, executive/senior leadership, and staff
- Provide orientation and ongoing consultation for CEOs/Executive Directors
- Advise Boards of Directors on effective governance principles and provide relevant resources
- Translate member and portfolio insights to internal and external constituents for enterprise planning, prioritization, and decision-making
- Represent Member Engagement on internal and external committees and lead cross-functional alignment
- Develop and lead learning presentations, discussions, tools, and guidance incorporating Member perspectives
- Develop collaborative relationships across Network Department teams and FANO departments to elevate portfolio insights and support a cohesive partner experience
Requirements:
- 10+ years’ experience in supply chain, non-profit management, business, consulting or related fields
- Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, incorporate historical and environmental context, and derive organization insights
- Strong knowledge of best practices in business management and organizational effectiveness
- Ability to navigate conflicts, manage respectful communication and identify solutions
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- 5+ years’ experience in charitable food systems preferred
- Proficient in Salesforce preferred
